Troubleshooting boot problems can be a very frustrating and challenging process. Sometimes their repair requires the Linux rescue environment, but what can be done if rescue media is not handy? If the system gets past BIOS and loads the GRUB boot loader, often there is much that can be done to get it up and running again.
Basic GRUB usage
Each time a Linux system boots, GRUB flashes by on the screen while it performs a brief countdown. The default countdown on many systems is five seconds but the actual countdown period can be adjusted. GRUB loads the Linux kernel and initial RAM disk image into system memory then fires the system up. When everything goes well and GRUB is finished with its task, the system successfully boots into Linux.
Press any key to enter the menu
Booting Fedora Core (2.6.19-1.2911.fc6) in 5 seconds...
Typical GRUB countdown sequence
Occasionally, GRUB requires some simple intervention. Perhaps a new kernel isn’t working correctly with your system or maybe you want to bring the system into a different runlevel than the default. Hit the ESCAPE key to interrupt the GRUB countdown and bring up GRUB’s main menu.

It is not possible to directly mount an NFSv4 filesystem in two locations on the same client. Instead, the same functionality can be achieved by using a bind mount to mount the first mount point at a second location. In order to achieve this:
- Create a mount point:
[root@host]# mkdir /mnt/nfs4
- Mount the server unto the mount point:
[root@host]# mount -t nfs4 server:/ /mnt/nfs4
- The NFSv4 filesystem is now mounted at /mnt/nfs4. If it is necessary to mount this filesystem at another location, a bind mount must be used:
[root@host]# mkdir /mnt/other_location
[root@host]# mount --bind /mnt/nfs4 /mnt/other_location
The NFSv4 filesystem is now mounted (via a bind mount) at /mnt/other_location.

Spoonfed Hacking
Preface:
This guide, written by glj12, is a fairly comprehensive tutorial that covers various methods that involve hacking particular types of “victims.” I do not take any responsibility whatsoever if you choose to follow through the provided methods on non-accepting candidates. The following methods display acts of security cracking. Enjoy, and please remember the prior agreement in terms of usage of the provided knowledge below.
Anyway, let us continue, shall we?
There are two methods of hacking; locally, or globally. There are an infinite amount of subsets to the following ideas, but let us cover as much as we can. The following is one part of several parts of the tutorial that will later be posted. Let us start off with the first scenario.
Local Hacking
This method normally consists gaining access some way or another via the intranet. Let us test the following method. (Note, everything highlighted in yellow is code, what you type in the terminal)
-Wireless Hacking
Let us set up a scenario here. You are eager to gain access to a non-specific, (or specific, if you have an apparent grudge with a mean neighbor) to a local computer. Here are the tools needed to gain access before we go on our mission.
- Laptop with dual boot, (preferably BackTrack 2 for Linux, and the second boot being Windows XP Pro)
- A CD
- Deepburner, so you can burn your .ISO image to your CD.
- Supported wireless card for injection to work properly (please see the list found here: http://www.aircrack-ng.org/doku.php?id=compatibility_drivers#which_is_the_best_card_to_buy)
- Enough battery life to serve you well
- Kismet or netstumbler, (to each his own, preferably Kismet for Linux so you do not have to reboot back and forth so often; this comes complete in BackTrack 2)

YouTube was just in a trouble of putting some not-puttable videos online. And they have removed such things. But, someone got different idea and launched a new service which provides deleted videos from YouTube. Amazing! I mean how fast are these people?
DeluTube, as its name implies, can serve up some video clips even after YouTube has purged them. That includes clips that contain copyrighted music and many clips that aren’t work safe. Delutube allows visitors to enter the video ID (pulled from the end of the YouTube URL) of a deleted clip, then attempts to retrieve the clip from YouTube's system. Clips are apparently not deleted from YouTube's database at the moment they are taken down (or they at least persist in YouTube's cache before being cleared), allowing DeluTube a chance of retrieving them. The site also allows for the easy downloading of the clips.
DeluTube isn't the only service that can do such a thing, of course, but it's possibly the most ironic; the site makes money serving Google ads. The creation of these services shows how much demand exists for this sort of material, and what a hard time content owners have controlling it. The line of legality is very fuzzy since the clips all come from YouTube's servers, whether they infringe on copyright laws or are simply inappropriate. Lawsuits are undoubtedly coming, but will they target YouTube for not completely removing the videos or will they target DeluTube and other sites like it?
What do you think? Is this YouTube's partner or supported by them to slap the lawsuit? Leave Your comments on this.

I have tried many softwares which can download from raidshare. But nothing works fine. Finally, i have tried to see page source. And trying to resolve the javascript. And i got it friends.
yes, you can easily stop the waiting timer (or counter) which stucks you for somw time before download the file.Just type this line in Address bar of your browser. And ya, if you are usinf FireFox then enable javascript before doing this.
in address bar: javascript:alert(c);
This will show value of the variable named 'c' in the page.To change its value, you need to call it in void function.
in address bar: javascript:void(c=0);
This will set c to 0 and wow, you will see the link!
it works fine with rapidshare.de and .com both, but since some day, rapidshare.de has got the security.so if you do it, your download link will appear but when you click it will show error message.

With built-in Wi-Fi and a colorful touch screen, the Archos 604 Wi-Fi handles almost all your video and audio files on the go. Is it worth building your collection?
The Archos 604 Wi-Fi looks like a basic slab of brushed metal. It isn't altogether unattractive, but it lacks any real design flourish. The buttons, each a two-way rocker switch, are aligned down the right side of the device, and though we found them easy to use, they certainly weren't as intuitive or inviting as the Apple iPod's clickwheel.Interface and transferThe interface on the Archos 604 Wi-Fi is purposefully bare, which makes it less confusing than other PMPs and Internet tablets we've seen. Simple icons greet you on startup for Music, Videos, Pictures and the Web. Video and musicThe Archos handles a wide range of media files, almost. The device does better with audio than video, ironically, handling MP3, AAC, WMA and PlaysForSure files from subscription download services, which we liked.Web browsing The Archos 604 Wi-Fi had no trouble picking up our open Wi-Fi network. Web browsing was nice, though the strange, vertically-oriented control layout made scrolling and scanning across pages less than intuitive.Accessories The Archos 604 Wi-Fi comes with headphones, a stylus, a USB cord and a leather sleeve. When we first opened the box, we were sure that Archos had simply forgotten the charger, but they hadn't, they just don't include one with the device. You have to pay extra. This is a poor decision, we think.Pros:Simple interface with a clean look and easy buttons; easy to access the features; lots of audio support; video looks good. Cons:Lack of essential accessories to charge the device and use built-in DVR functions; poor battery performance; no transfer software; screen door effect on low-res screen. Price and availability The Archos 604 Wi-Fi is available immediately from Archos and other online retailers for $450.Source Archos
Global shipments of hard disk drives (HDDs) rose 15.5% in 2006, as suppliers managed to capitalize on growth opportunities while shrugging off challenges including price wars, component shortages and competitive upheavals, according to research firm iSuppli.
The HDD industry in 2006 shipped 434.2 million hard drives, up 15.5% from 375.8 million in 2005. In the fourth quarter of 2006, 119.7 million HDDs were shipped, up 15.8% compared to the same period a year earlier and an 8.3% increase from the third quarter, said the research firm.
Along with strong sales to established markets in computing and consumer-electronics products, the HDD industry benefited from the rise of a new application: external hard drives. In 2006, 2.6 million external HDDs were shipped, up 37% from 2005. Demand for external HDDs is being driven by the desire of consumers to store and backup large-sized video and audio files downloaded from Internet services, noted iSuppli.
The top-two leading HDD suppliers also made gains in the fourth quarter of 2006. Seagate's share of 34.6% in the fourth quarter was up a notch from 34.3% in the third quarter. Western Digital Corporation (WDC) held its second-place position at 20.5%, also up slightly from 19.9% in the previous quarter. However, number-three Hitachi GST's share was 17.2%, down slightly from 17.5% in the third quarter.

The new Windows Vista are finally here and, like it or not, they will most possibly be the next OS the majority of PC users will use. In Windows Vista, and more particularly in Home Premium and Ultimate versions, Microsoft has included their new DVD creation program, simply called Windows DVD Maker.
Mini Review
Windows DVD Maker has a simple wizard-like user interface allowing you to easily create your DVDs. Even though the advanced user would like to have a few more options available, we can say for the purpose that this program was made, which is to easily convert your files to a DVD what is offered is enough.
In the other hand, we cannot say so for the media support. Windows DVD Maker was able to convert DivX, XviD, MPEG and of course, WMV files flawlessly, however it couldn't read AAC audio off AVI files, couldn't for some strange reason read all the DV camera files we threw at it and didn't recognize Matroska (MKV) and OGM media files at all. Also there is no option to add subtitles or more than one audio track. As a result, if you need to convert from these formats, add another language track or include subtitles you have to move to another solution that works under Windows Vista, like ConvertXToDVD. A big advantage Windows DVD Maker has, over similar simple solutions is that besides video conversion it can create slideshows DVDs from image files. Yes, other programs like PhotoDVD can do that, however Windows DVD Maker is able to merge both video and image files into one DVD! That way you can convert your vacation's video from your digital camcorder to DVD as well as include the images you took with your digital camera in a nice slideshow, both in the same disc and selecting what to see from the menu.Full Guide
it seems simple: Pick the fastest processor you can afford for your needs?
The hidden assumptions in that seemingly straightforward piece of advice are the killer, though. The words fastest, afford, and needs are too general for this to be really useful advice.
On top of that, you'll want to balance the overall platform needs of your PC. Buying a really fast, high-end CPU may mean skimping on memory, which can substantially reduce the perceived performance of a system. If your PC is constantly swapping chunks of memory out to the hard drive, then that hot-rod CPU will spend most of its time idling.Even if you're not building a PC, you may be contemplating buying one from one of the many build-to-order manufacturers. I have seen an ad of Microsoft which says 'use original Microsoft softwares, contact us'. It is in a desi newspaper.before this, i haven't seen Microsoft so helpless. I mean what they said in the ad:
"you employees want to do good work but your software is the reason why they failed. Please use original"
Now tell me one thing, Once people had got on 98.Then you upgrade them with some fees to windows XP. And that XP is with bugs, not fully complete error less i mean. You given some service packs to fool the customers. And now you are on vista and saying them to upgrade to vista.
And also this is with the fees! Why the hell people do pay these much?
I mean they have the license once then you should upgrade for free or you should give some discounts(i mean 50 to 60 % ok? ).
Also Linux gives them hard competition.Thats why Microsoft has to do much ad campaigns! I mean "competition is good for customers". :)
This shows the power of Freeware/Open Source. Use Open source/Freeware. Be Open, use open source. Use Linux/Unix. Its having less security threats then windows.Free softwares/packages and free upgrades.
Enjoy!

This time i will talk about very big thing! i mean everybody uses it and everybody knows it.It is P2P networks. It includes all kinds of softwares which allows sharing files with others. Torrent clients, kazza,eDonkey,Ares and many more.Today mostly people use Torrents.I have used kazaa,eDonkey and now i am using uTorrent.Kazza has different network.eDonkey works with Guntella(something liek that). But torrent gives maximum speed.
Security point!
Whatever thing you are using, but i suggest to use torrents. And ya, don't download applications which looks suspicious from name or size. say, application you found in kazza search has name 'NORTON ANTIVIRUS' and size is say @MB or 1 to 500 KB or so then you should understand that Norton is a big thing, then how can it be of such small size?got it? Also some people give it name like its a porn game or video, but actually it may be a virus/trojan/spyware/malware!so, you can be easily infected.so update your antivirus first and then download. Now antiviruses can catch current downloding files also.So you can be safe!
Don't store on you Hard drives!
yes. You download something and let it be there on your HDD.In a very less time your PC will be full of trash data(yes i am right.because when Internet is unlimited, people download everything they see and make their PCs like a trashbag or dustbin). And its performance degrades. So please use some backup options.Best thing to use is DVD.Yes, you can DVDs in very less amount and store all your important data in that.put a list in PC of all DVDs so you can easily find what is in which one.
Now its about speed!
yes, torrents give more speed but, you should see its performance.keep in mind some thing about it.
1.Seeder - who holds/shares(or you can say allows you to download from their PC) torrent files for other users.
2.leecher - who downloads torrent files.
so check if the torrent has more seeders. And also see how many users have completed it,from how much time it is up,maxmimum speed(bandwidth) etc. Then just download the .torrent file and load it in your torrent client.
you can download movies,CD/DVD images/applications of many open source/freeware projects, pirated stuff(but should not download it perticularly in apps!)etc. But use everything in limits. After all,it should not be your addiction.Enjoy!Leave your comments about p2p softwares.

Parth.

Microsoft is on vista now. And in two years, they will stop supporting xp/2000 like done it for windows 98 before. So what you think? I mean say now many companies are using XP as a main OS in all user PCs and Windows 2000 in server PCs. so when microsoft stops supporting xp and 2000 then what we can do? we have original licensed versions but now the upgrade patches can't available. As the scene for windows 98 users, we also have to use xp as it is. with its errors and all security threats. No more patches,no more service packs. so what we should do?
Should we buy Windows vista?
If so, then you must upgrade some PCs of your organization.Becasue vista has higher requirements. And also you have to check if all your current softwares work with vista or not.I mean its a big change and it needs big money to be spent.so what can be another choice?Linux?
Should we move onto Linux/Unix based OSs?
May be this is right choice for some, this is very challenging.Though Linux/UNIX based OSs are free/Open Source, you may require some paid softwares on that. But that can be managed in less price because almost all software packages have free/Open source options available. But main point is,users. yes, your PC users have to be ready to work on linux.May be they require some training, also say you have managed it,but if they are ready to do so.And upto they are redy, your work can be delayed. And this can be very big issue.
But as we think on this issues, can we expect one another point? can you guess what in my mind?ok let me tell you.May be someone release new OS which is same like windows and fre/Open source? But miracles rarely happens.Still you can get some linuxs which have windows look like UI.So users are comfortable to use and you don't need to waste your money to get new things.Though some training requires.but we can manage it.
This is a big issue for companies working on windows platforms and also on windows programming. Java, php, python etc... development can be done on Linux also. But don't worry. you can move onto the open source side easily if you know OOPS!Try your best.Try to get on Linux.BTW, i am using windows XP in my PC. :)
Review this.Leave you comments about this problem. What you suggest?

Parth.
